The PARC has been able to offer treatments that suit residents for all stages of their recovery – from detox, through primary and secondary care, and also Sober Living.
Sober Living is for people who want recovery in their life, some of whom may want further support, companionship or the safety of residing amongst other people in true recovery, and others who simply enjoy the sober lifestyle.
Because of the 12 Step Recovery culture at The PARC, our Sober Living environment is absolutely perfect for people who are genuinely serious about their recovery because it contains all the 3 Pillars of long lasting recovery needed to improve upon our personal journeys –
Recovery: The PARC is all about the magic of recovery that washes into our residents through the 12 Step Program. During Sober Living we will work with the residents wherever they’re at and take them further along this path towards long lasting recovery. We will help our residents by connecting them to Sponsors and other people on the 12 Step path of recovery, so they can continue their recovery growth. This is vital in the goal of long lasting recovery, as without the 12 step program active in their lives, they risk going backwards and reverting to their previous behaviours.
Unity: There is unity and Fellowship with other people on the same path as you, all holding each to account from a caring and supportive place, with a strong sense of solidarity and companionship, that typically addicts in early recovery crave. When we consider that addiction has us isolated and alone, our recovery will need the presence of others for it to feel healthy and sincere. Sober Living at The PARC offers this.
Service: The secret to recovery is the shift from the selfishness of our addiction, into the selflessness of our Recovery. Once people get an experiential grasp of this, the program drops into place. By seeing how we can be of use to others in our lives and even to strangers or people we never meet (through charity for instance), we grow in our spiritual development and we move into a healthy place emotionally. This really is the icing on the cake. Adopting an attitude of service to others will keep us on track in a far more profound way that we could ever anticipate.
As well as assisting our residents with the 3 pillars of Recovery, we also have morning and evening peer led groups that we ask them to attend, as well as access to many of the holistic features from our primary care, such as exercise, meditation, yoga, and weekend excursions.
