Where is The Phuket Addiction Recovery Clinic?

The PARC is to be found around 45 minutes drive south from the Phuket International Airport, near the Kathu Waterfalls in central Phuket, which sits in Southern Thailand. Flying into Phuket International Airport (airport code HKT) is straight forwards and offers magnificent views of the coastline and surrounding jungle covered smaller satellite Islands. It’s Thailands 2nd largest Airport Hub and is a very modern Airport. Its historically experienced international visitors due to Phuket’s longstanding relationship with the tourism industry, meaning that as soon as you land you’ll get the sense of Thai hospitality and what makes Phuket & Thailand such a popular place to visit. You’ll immediately understand why Thailand is referred to as “The Land of Smiles“.

Phuket is the biggest Island of Thailand, and it sits to the South West alongside the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is 48km long and 21km across at its widest point, so you’re never very far from a gorgeous beach at any point.

The beautiful weather in Phuket is generally humid and always lovely and warm. On the tropical Island of Phuket the sunshine mingles with soothing sea breezes to make sure the conditions are perfect. There is a rainy season during which the seasonal rains offer a refreshing respite and cool things down slightly, though never unpleasantly as the rains rarely last longer than 30 minutes and it rarely rains more than 3 times a day.

Temperatures tend to be between 23*C / 73.5*F on the coolest nights and 35*C / 95*F on the hottest days throughout the year.

Phuket is known around the world for its magnificent beaches, which usually feature in anyone’s 10 top list of beautiful beaches around the World, as do its truly stunning sunsets. Snorkelling the coral reefs and appreciating the Elephant Sanctuaries are just two obvious activities, but there is so much more.

Phuket is known as a Health and Wellness mecca for tourists from around the world, with Yoga enthusiasts and Muay Thai boxers mingling together with Cyclists and Power Lifters.

Phuket is the one of the most popular destinations in the world due to its gorgeous beaches, magnificent sun rises / sun sets, wonderful RainForest Jungle views, serene atmosphere, flavourful & nutritious diet and the gentle Thai Buddhist attitudes and culture.

Trip Advisor says “Thailand’s largest island is an international magnet for beach lovers and serious divers, who enthusiastically submerge themselves in the Andaman Sea. Blue lagoons and salmon sunsets make for a dream-like atmosphere, and indeed, a vacation here can feel a bit surreal. Watersports are the most popular activities, though once you’ve had enough sun there’s still plenty to explore at the island’s aquariums, gardens, and Buddhist temples.”

The PARC is a 12 Step (non-Religious) residential treatment centre for people struggling with addictions.

We use the 12 Step Program of Recovery because it has already been proven to work.

Our minimum stay is 28 days, though most of our Residents extend for 2 months. Some people commit to our full 12 week program, which we believe is the optimal amount of time to spend in rehab, if you have the luxury of spending that much time and money on yourself.

We’ve kept the costs down to a minimum, without compromising on our great standards of care and comfort, in our efforts to serve as many families as possible. We hope that we’re able to work with you and your budget. Please speak to us to discuss your situation and we’ll do our best to accommodate your specific requirements.

Why Phuket, Thailand?

We chose Phuket as the best destination to establish our treatment facility because we fell in love with the Island and the vast possibilities for healthy Recovery here.

The 2 Co-Founders were previously living in a landlocked part of northern Thailand and began asking themselves, if they could live anywhere in Thailand, surely next to some of the planet’s prettiest beaches would be the most favourable option.
They also considered Koh Samui, but felt the transportation hubs into Phuket were so much stronger than everywhere else in Thailand by a long way, second only to Bangkok itself.

Both of the Founders are seasoned world wide travellers and as they began exploring Thailand to see where they’d love to grow their Addiction Recovery Clinic they were both spellbound by the beauty and nature of the whole of Phuket Island (beaches and jungle alike) and realised just how appealing for people in early Recovery that it could be, making their minds up almost immediately. Phuket was to be the destination of their first “Addiction Recovery Clinic”.

Furthermore, the 12 Step Fellowships in Phuket are very strong indeed. There are very few Recovery hotspots outside of North America, Australasia and Western Europe, but Phuket certainly has a thriving Recovery community. This was just as important for the residents as it is for the Staff, including the Co-Founders, who personally practice what The PARC preaches, and maintain their own Recovery with the 12 Step Fellowships.
